Drone Surveys

Drone Surveys

Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (A.K.A. Drones) are becoming increasingly common throughout our skies for all kinds of commercial and domestic uses. For the construction industry, drones are extremely useful as part of an inspection toolkit, providing photographic services for roofs, high levels & hard to reach areas and are often used in lieu of costly access methods such as cherry pickers and scaffolds, not to mention the benefit of mitigating health and safety risks to individuals.

Using drones to photograph, video and survey buildings provides clarity of layouts, assists with proactively maintaining building elements and allows all parties to monitor the progress of a construction project from an accessible vantage point previously unavailable, the sky.

JBH Property Consulting have three inhouse drones which are regularly in action, all with varying functions and features. Our surveyors carry out a site review and specific risk assessments prior to attending. Our drone operators are also trained and certified to attend site safely, in order to carry out high-level and roof inspections in a time and cost-efficient manner.

The Building Surveyors at JBH Property Consulting have been using drones for the past few years to assist with the following inspections:

  • Building Condition Surveys
  • Dilapidation Surveys
  • Planned Preventative
  • Maintenance Surveys
  • Pre-Acquisition Surveys
  • Construction Project Management
  • Roof Surveys
  • Schedules of Condition
  • Specific Defect Inspections

Although many drone operators can undertake aerial photography, it is our surveyors expertise in construction that allows the images and footage to be utilised, assisting with recording and diagnosing building elements and defects. Our drone photos and videos, together with the surveyors knowledge, also provide further assistance when recommending remedial action for identified defects.
